Day of Africa in ONPU
In 2011-2012 academic year the contingent of ONPU foreign students from Africa has considerably extended. So, from among the 160 preparatory faculty students, 96 are representing different countries of the African continent. This year the faculty trains nationals from 13 countries of Africa.
On April 13 at 12.00 in ONPU Students’ Palace there took place a festival event. The cultural program included the African students’ performances in the most different genres: these are national African songs and dances, reading poems in Russian and Ukrainian languages, and performance of the Ukrainian national songs and dances.
Even preparatory faculty students, who study the Russian only some months, demonstrated an excellent command of Russian, giving interview to mass media representatives, showing their genuine interest to the Ukrainian culture.
Students from Guinea, Algeria, Tunisia, D.R. Congo, and Guinea-Bissau became the most active participants of the festival.
