There have been implemented the European experience of youth and student recreational tourism in Odessa
International student forum "From the joint rest - to the mutual understanding and cooperation" was held on September, 4th - 8th at the sports and fitness complex "Chayka" of Odessa National Polytechnic University by the Black Sea - a picturesque location of Carolino-Bugaz, where creates the conditions for the annual health improvement of nearly a thousand students from Ukraine and Romania.
International action was initiated by members of the European Union project "International Student Center for recreation and tourism : the path to the healthy nation (ISCRT)» MIS ETC- 1118 as part of the Romania - Ukraine - Republic of Moldova 2007-2013 Cross Border Cooperation program under the slogan "Joint Borders. Joint Solution". In particular, the forum was attended by 120 students and teachers from Odessa National Polytechnic University and Romanian University "Stefan cel Mare", including: Ilie Doroftey - the leader of student organizations "A.S.U.S", Inna Bezhenar and Anastasia Andronova - representatives of the Department of Culture and Tourism and Department of Foreign Economic Activity and European Integration of Odessa Regional State Administration, Nina Dubovik - the head of the Odessa Regional Labour Union of Education and Science of Ukraine, Mihai Opresku - Consul of the General Consulate of Romania in Odessa and other representatives of the tourist industry in the region.
The forum guests from Romania got acquainted with tourism potential of the Odessa region, participated in joint cultural events and discussions on problems and prospects of European integration processes from the point of view of students and young people of our countries.As noted the project manager Valery Lebed at the press-conference, there going on the construction work on the 21.5 hectare of the seaside territory of the Odessa National Polytechnic University, where has been repaired 58 student cottages. And since September 15th starts the main stage of reconstruction, namely: the construction of the new sports core according to European standards, the building of six modern 2- storey buildings, the renovation of educational summer school and conference hall for meetings and discussions.
The main objective of the project carried out by a consortium effort of Odessa National Polytechnic University and Romanian University "Stefan cel Mare", said V.Lebed "is to develop the tourist potential of Odessa region through the creation of an international center for students' recreation, including students with disabilities, and the creation of tourist information center, oriented on students". Implementation of international health center is included into the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "Health improvement of students" and will provide barrier-free environment for rehabilitation of young people with disabilities and will enable youth sports schools to prepare for competition at all levels. And most importantly - will increase student tourist flows between border regions of Ukraine and Romania, in particular, Romanian students will be able to relax at the seaside wellness center Carolino-Bugaz combining rest and having the opportunity of getting more knowledge.
The particular benefits from the project will be obtained by the northern regions of Romania, especially Suceava district, representatives of which will have opportunity to rest by the Black Sea.
This event has gained a wide response in mass media of regional and national levels.
