Training "Design of computer games and competence in education" by Erasmus + KA2 GameHub project
November 7-8 at the Odessa National Polytechnic University held a training course.
November 7-8 at the Odessa National Polytechnic University have been trained as part of the training meetings for researchers on the project EC Erasmus + KA2 "GameHub: university-business cooperation in the gaming industry in Ukraine" (561,728-EPP-1-2015-1-ES- EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), which was attended by representatives of:
Project Coordinator - University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain;
Odessa National Polytechnic University;
National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute";
Kherson National Technical University.
The team from ONPU participated: V. Antoniuk, Art. Lecturer Department of KISS; Volkova NP, Art. PMIT lecturer of the department; Drozd MA, Art. Lecturer Department of ICs; Kavitska VS, Art. Lecturer Department of the ACT; Kozina YY, Associate Professor of the Department PMIT; ; Laptev Yu, assistant chair of the IP; Makovetskii AS, Art. Lecturer Department of ICs; Marulin SY, Art. Lecturer Department of the ACT; OV Maslov, Head. Department of Physics; SP Miller, associate professor of the Department of BITs; Oleshuk OV, associate professor of the Department of KISS; Pavlyshko AV, associate professor of the department of ITAM; Speranski VA, Associate Professor, Department of KSU; Chervonenko PP, associate professor of the department of IP.
Trainings were held on two topics:
"The user interface for the design of the games," the coach Olga Dzyabenko;
"From competence to the expected learning outcomes," coach Maria Yarosh.
The training "The user interface for the design of games," the basic idea of the game was considered, defined its audience and ultimate goal. All training participants were divided into five teams, who developed the idea of the game project on two tasks:
change the rules of the game "Tic-Tac-Toe" and develop new algorithms for the implementation of the game in order to get the skills to develop a new idea for a game based on the familiar rules;
to explain the implementation of the game, to reveal its audience and ultimate goal.
Further issues of creating ergonomic user interface have been affected, most fully satisfying the needs of consumers. Were presented the criteria for assessing the quality of the design by the example of the development of web / mobile applications, among which were identified: the contrast - differing requirements of presentation elements in different colors, fonts, etc .; repeatability - compliance with uniform standards for similar products (eg, Word, Excel, Access). In addition, indicators of quality ease of use by users of the product were analyzed: learning ability, efficiency, memorability.
As it was proposed as a practical development topics commands:
develop the interface of the main characters created on the eve of the game: its appearance, the character, the perception of the player;
to analyze and evaluate the website of the educational institution, its functionality, ease of use for the purpose of rapid and high-quality information search by comparison with the sites of the leading universities in the world, followed by the formation of their own vision to improve the site.
The training "From competence to the expected learning outcomes" was considered the concept of competence, competence levels and their implementation in the development of disciplines. As the case studies, participants were asked to formulate the main goals of their own courses within the student training in a specific discipline, and analyze the knowledge and skills of students in the study of the course, using the methodology used for this, as well as to map the competencies of the selected discipline. discussion of the advantages and disadvantages have been conducted "teacher-centered" and "student-centered" approach to the management of disciplines of the educational process. As part of the practical part of the team received the task to create a table in the disciplines they teach, including criteria for assessing the level of students' knowledge and requirements corresponding to each level.
A detailed photo report on training presented in the catalog.
In December, the team three universities will gather at the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" for participation in training "gamification of learning and programming games" under the guidance of coaches from the University of Applied Sciences Graz, Austria.
In addition it will be carried out more On-Line-training, for which registration is still open at the address.
