Results of the program of academic mobility BACKIS
On the 5-6th of April in Tbilisi basing in Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University took part the final meeting of the project coordinators - representatives of 8 universities in the EU member countries from France, Estonia, Lithuania, Italy, Czech Republic, Spain, Poland and Belgium, as well as 10 universities in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine. At the meeting with the participation of employees ONPU - vice-rector V.S. Shobik and senior specialist of the International Cooperation Department O.V. Hrynevych – were summed up the results of the program, which included the provision of academic mobility for 225 participants (41 - from the EU and 184 - of the EU's partner countries).
Odessa Polytechnics took an active part in three competitions and won 23 grants for study and training in European universities within BACKIS. Meeting was particularly marked by the success of our student from Institute of information security and radio telecommunications - Tatyana Skorik. She was the only one of all the participants in the program, who, after successful studies during the 2014-15 academic year at the Turin Polytechnic University, defended her thesis in ONPU, continued implementation of the master's program in Italy and has a good chance to get in this year's Italian diploma. During this Project our University hosted on studies and training representatives of 5 European Universities from France, Spain and Poland.
As a result, the participation of representatives of the ONPU in BACKIS project and held meetings in Tbilisi with European partners have been agreed continuation of cooperation in the new EU Erasmus+ project on the basis of bilateral inter-university agreements and joint participation in future international competitions. With the University of the Basque Country (Spain) have been signed the contract and received funding for the 2016-17 academic year for the academic mobility of students and staff within Erasmus+. Jointly with the University of Masaryk (Czech Republic) have been filed an application on participation in this project in the 2017-2020.
